Vocational Training in Agriculture

Learning Academy Worldwide’s unique vocational training in Agriculture received direct funding support for three students to start and complete their bridging programme.

‘We are thankful for the kind way in which the Portmore Charitable Trust came alongside us…” explained Learning Academy Worldwide founder, Theophilus van Rensburg Lindzter.

South Africa’s rural young people, not much different from their peers on the continent, face daunting challenges which form barriers to learning opportunities that will lead to immediate work placement.

The traditional methods of training have largely been fragmented, mostly theory with  very limited  opportunities for practical learning experiences and do not always translate into immediate work-placement opportunities.

That has changed with Learning Academy Worldwide’s Learning and Earning Model.

In essence, Portmore Charitable Trust’s  investment in agricultural vocational training acts as a catalyst. It provides young people with the skills, knowledge, and potentially the resources needed to become productive members of their communities, build sustainable livelihoods, improve food security, and ultimately overcome some of the major struggles associated with poverty and lack of opportunity in rural South Africa.

By focusing on agriculture, a sector with significant potential in these regions, the training empowers youth to become agents of change in their own lives and for their communities.
